Criminal cases
With a few exceptions, the court covers fees for defense counsel when an indictment has been filed in the case, and always in connection with pre-trial detention.
For assistance during an investigation (before an indictment has been issued), the client must regularly cover any fees themselves. In some cases, the public sector covers assistance, and you can always contact us initially for advice and guidance without incurring a fee.
If the criminal case is dropped, the accused can request reimbursement of accrued legal fees from the public sector.
Child protection
If the case goes to the county board/district court, you are entitled to free legal aid. You may also be entitled to free legal aid for other interventions.Feel free to ask us for advice in an initial conversation without incurring a fee.
Free legal aid/free legal representation
In certain types of cases, including child custody, labour disputes, social security cases and immigration cases, provided that the client does not have excessive income and/or assets, it may be possible to obtain free legal representation, i.e. the public sector covers large parts of the fees incurred.
When you do not get free legal aid

Our fees are generally calculated according to time spent. A fixed price can be agreed in some cases.
The hourly rate that will form the basis for the fee calculation in the case is agreed when the assignment is entered into. Special disbursements in connection with the case will be added.
The hourly calculation is based on a minimum workload of 15 minutes for each work session in the case.
Acceptance of assignments
Acceptance of an assignment is based on a signed assignment confirmation, and after any advance fee has been paid.
